Mushu inspired EOTD

Red and gold go together really well, like on a bejeweled crown, a ruby ring... or an animated dragon from a Disney cartoon. I like Mushu (from Mulan), and this look is inspired by him. I might even start a series of Disney sidekick character eye-looks (e.g Lumiere, Zazu, Gus or Flit - just off the top of my head). That sounds like fun, right?

Products
Base: Urban Decay Primer Potion (original, I am yet to crack open Eden), UD 24/7 liner in Baked (under gold to help it stick).
Eyeshadows: Sugarpill Goldilux, Love+, Flamepoint (to blend down red onto lid) and Dollipop (to blend out red to brow) and a touch of Inglot AMC 74 (Raspberry) to darken the crease slightly and matte 352 (skintone) to blend right up to brow.
Eyeliner: Boujois Clubbing Liner Intense in Black.
Mascara: Boujois Volumizer (step 2 then step 1 to comb it through, yeah I like it backwards best...)
Brows: Clinique free-gift greyish brown eyeshadow.
Foundation: Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in Porcelain.
Blush: MAC cream blush in Posey.
Powder: A mix of Clinique translucent to set oily areas (like my nose, forehead, chin) and Guerlain pressed meteorites powder in Mythic Parfait on less oily areas (for a little glow).
Lips: Just some strawberry balm.

I had a weekend off work!

I had this weekend booked off work, which was lucky since I was very bunged up, my head was so sore! I ended up calling in sick on Friday, but managed to catch up with an old friend from Uni for an afternoon Breakfast on Saturday. On Sunday I volunteered painting faces at a local farm. It rained. I didn't get to paint many faces (less than ten). But I did enjoy it and buy some lovely raspberry jam and a giant bulb of garlic from the farm shop.

As I've been ill, my face has been really dry as well as chapped under my nose from all the blowing (today at work I ended up with a nosebleed - only my second ever nosebleed - from so much blowing!) and I have been using Oilatum face cream on it, which is helping greatly. I've also been avoiding foundation, but powdering over my face with my new baby (my prize, my love) my Guerlain Mythic Parfait pressed meteorites powder. I tried to freshen my face up a bit with NARS Albatross highlight powder and MAC Venomous Villains blush in Bite of an Apple.

Now, I may be ill but I am still painting my nails. My nail polish collection is growing at a rapid rate. It seems to be my focus this month (like NARS blushes were last month). Here are some photos from the last few days.

I put a little of my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer over the worst of the redness. It all rubbed off later on with my runny snozz but at least I looked presentable when I left the house...

...to eat this gargantuan 'Full full veggie breakfast'

Thought I should wear some colour on my eyes to entice the kiddys. And yes, the exact same outfit.
Don't judge me.

I updated my OPI DS Sapphire mani with Illamasqua Rare on the tips. Raw! Oh no sorry, Rare.

I swear it was an accident that my sister and her boyfriend ended up in hi-vis jackets on the farm that matched it perfectly. I just wanted high-contrast and to try out my new toy.
Maybe I'm psychic.

Lunchtime break for tea and sandwiches...

I changed from Rare to Collide for today at work. I had a fair few compliments on it at the ticket desk (whatever takes the attention off my face!)

This evening I've added Andrea Fullerton gemstone topcoat for an update.
Flakies look good over everything.

Hope you had a good weekend too, thanks for following,

Two Naked palette eye-looks and more exciting news...

This first eye-look I just discovered from earlier in April. Seems I didn't think this work make-up was exciting enough to post at the time but in retrospect I like it, even though the eyeliner wasn't particularly neat and if I recall, neat eyeliner was the whole point. They told us practice, practice, practice at the SOMUA, and since liquid eyeliner is my first make-up love (have worn it most days for nine years, no less) you'd think I'd have it perfected. Well... no.
I believe I used the two matte browns from Urban Decay's Naked Palette in my crease, as well as Virgin as an inner-corner highlight. I know I used Sugarpill Chromalust in Tiara on the lid.
I look sleepy in that photo, huh? No idea what else I used, but since I'd just got back from London probably my one and only Illamasqua cream blush in Rude.

Today I used my MAC brow pencil in Stud (I had forgotten how much I love this, it lasts all day), Urban Decay liners in Stray dog and Whiskey, which I got with my Naked palette back in August when it was first released on houseoffraser.com but I have not used it until today! Toasted on the lid, matte browns in Naked and Buck in the crease and Virgin as inner highlight here the same as the first look.
I also used my MAC Posey cremeblend blush today and am very glad it is indeed quite different from Illamasqua's cream blush in Rude. It was a much more pink and rich coral on my cheeks, whereas Rude is definately a brighter orangey peach colour.

Now onto my good news. Yesterday I received a free Inglot giveaway gift from Grey and was thinking about coincidences in that I was watching a haul video and wanting some free stuff. I later went online to check my emails and read some blogs wherein discovering I had won a Guerlain powder from a giveaway at Lillith's Dark Tower.

I would like to take this moment to say that I never win things. Even in win everytime tombolas at fairs, I would usually get the duff prize. We're talking scented candles all the scent has evaporated from, ripped books, I think I got some wine once when I was a sunburned twelve year old. Anyway, now I know how exciting and sweet and amazing it is to receive gifts from bloggers, I think when I get more followers I'll put together a little giveaway myself. How about that?!
