Frankly Scarlett EOTD

I don't yet have a red MAC eyeshadow, and even if I did, we don't sell any at the counter and so I wouldn't be able to wear it to work. How did I do this then? (Most of you will have noticed, the answer is in the title...) I love red eyeshadow (Sugarpill Love+, Fyrinnae Kamikaze etc) so I decided to use red powder blusher instead! One of the girls on the counter had done this a few weeks ago and I have been meaning to try it ever since... this is that.

More photos and products to follow.

Products
Eyeshadow - Soft Ochre paint pot as a base, Colour Added and Fresh Daily (from Colour Added and Call Me Bubbles Shop/Cook eyeshadow quads) on lid, Quarry, Embark and Carbon eyeshadows into crease, Frankly Scarlett matte powder blusher and Blanc Type to blend out above.
Eyeliner - Superslick Liquid eyeliner in On the Hunt (black) and Smolder eye kohl pencil to tightline (under upper lashes only).
Lashes - Studio Fix Boldblack lash mascara and #3 eyelashes (applied untrimmed for a fuller effect, tilted up along eyeliner at outside corners).
Eyebrows - Stud Eyebrows and Omega eyeshadow.
Skin - First applied Prep and Prime Skin Brightening Serum and Fast Response Eye Cream, followed by Prep and Prime Face Protect SPF 50. For coverage, Match Master 1.0 Foundation and Select Cover-Up concealer in NW20 where needed.
Blush - Posey Cremeblend blush, set with Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Plus. A light dusting of Melba blush was used to make colour a little peachier (and longer lasting). Contoured slightly with Harmony matte powder blush.
Lips - Pro-Longwear lip pencil in Absolutely It and Blankety Amplified Cream lipstick.

And what does it look like after a day at work...? (This is a little experiment with myself, to see if I look as insane as I feel... j/k) Does it last?

When I wear lashes, I pretty much always get some veiny eye going on. It looked worse in real life. It's always in what I call my *crap eye* on my right side too. Argh.

Soooooo tired. Thanks for looking and hope you're all having a lovely weekend (I'm working...)

  1. I love using red eyeshadow! I usually do thick red liner with a little black blended close to the lashes, and finish it off with matching red lips, but I must try using it like this! Loving the messy fishtail plait too!

  3. This is so pretty!

I sometimes feel like cause of my hair colour I have to be careful with wearing bright shadows for fear of "colour overload" - but this is kind of toned down, yet still colourful. Might have to give it a go :)

  4. I really love this look- have always loved red eye make-up (when I was a teenager I asked for the red Shu Uemura eyeshadow for my birthday- I still have it somewhere and I still think it's beautiful).

*But* you are a bad influence on me!!! ;-)

Been feeling really rubbish lately, and have been enjoying your blog (although my eye skills are poor, wish I was as skilled as you!) so went on a spending splurge (despite recently trying to minimise and cull some of my make-up stash)!

Yesterday's post brought me a Neal's Yard eye make-up remover, Mac 'Smoke Signal' pigment (there I go with the red again!), Mac Venomous Villains 'Wicked Ways' lipglass, Urban Decay 'Strip' eyeshadow, and a couple of nail varnishes- OPI 'Save Me' and China Glaze 'Naughty and Nice'. Arghhhh! And there is still some more yet to arrive (my first ever Inglot order- hoping it lives up to my expectations!)
