Adventure Time Inspired Series - Tree Trunks

This face of the day is inspired by Tree Trunks. Here she is pictured with Jake the Dog. If you have never before seen her darling face well... need I say more?

Tree Trunks is an elephant who likes to bake apple pies and wants to adventure like Finn and Jake. She ends up in a crystal realm as the Queen. I love her colours, especially when she has a full face of make-up. She's either pale yellow or neon green yellow. I went with neon (who would've guessed!)
Anyhoo... there are photos of the look and a list of products after the jump.

Disney Sidekick Pain and Panic/Vani inspired EOTD

I had wanted to do a blue and red eye-look inspired by Pain and Panic from Disney's Hercules since I first started the *sort of* series I have going. (So far I did Zazu (Lion King), Flit (Pocahontas) and Mushu (Mulan) incase you missed it.)
I always love seeing Disney themed looks on other blogs and on youtube so I'm continuing with it.

Look at those little guys. The comic relief of Hercules. My hair is partly inspired by their master Hades too, as he is blue through and through ("aye- verse- oi!")

Another awesome blue haired person is Vani the shop girl (who along with Yuka models for and sells Japanese brand 6%Dokidoki). Isn't she awesome? She wears one eye red, one eye blue quite often. I'd call it her signature eye-makeup. Well... I stole it. She first came to my attention through Shrinkle's blog, the founder of Sugarpill who I have been following online since I was about 16. Yes, I am an internet stalker.
In honour of this obsession fact the main lid colours for each eye are from Sugarpill (Love+ and Afterparty).

Products
Base - UDPP in Eden, NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk (inner corner).
Eyeshadows on blue side - MAC Wisteria eyeshadow (Light blue from l/e Dame Edna trio), Sugarpill Afterparty, Fyrinnae 1.22 Gigawatts (crease), Inglot .
Eyeshadows on red side - Urban Decay Heat deluxe eyeshadow, Sugarpill Love+, Inglot raspberry red (AMC 74) and matte skintone (352) and white (373) to blend to brow.
Liner - Blue Kryolan cream liner, Red Inglot gel liner (79), UD Perversion to tightline/on waterline (set with black from Sleek Acid palette).
Mascara - Boujois Volumizer in Black.
Brows - Fyrinnae 1.22 gigawatts mixed with Illamasqua sealing gel.
Face - Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer in Porcelain, Clinique translucent powder, Sleek blush in Santorini and some MAC beauty powder in Pretty Baby to tone it down a bit (from Hello Kitty l/e collection).

My brows would work better this way if I had no brow hairs. I don't know if I dare go there. I'm sure I'll figure out smart blue brows soon.
Thanks for looking,

Deep-blue EOTD

I love blue eyeshadow. When I look in the mirror with any blue eyeshadow on, I can see all the orange tones of my brown eyes. I also feel like it makes my skin look paler (which is how I like it). I had wanted to use the blue half of Rated R as an all over lid colour, and this was what came out today.

I just this morning (still in my pyjamas, much to the amusement of the postie) got the three sets of Real Techniques brushes by Samantha Chapman (aka half of Pixiwoo). I therefore decided I would use only these new brushes to test them out. Fun! I ended up using 2/3 of them, which is a bit mad. And now I need to wash them (boo!) I like them so far, they are certainly worth the money. One thing i've noticed whilst using the brushes in the way they are labeled is that the angled brow brush has softer, bendier bristles than the others, and is a bit thick for my liking.
I will probably use this 1. when my Illamasqua brow brush is dirty or 2. for lower lid/waterline liner.

Products:
Base: UDPP, Nyx jumbo eyeshadow pencils in Cottage Cheese (inner corner) and Pacific (lid)
Eyeshadows:
Inner corner - Inglot shimmer white DS 496, white with blue glitter AMC shine 28 and matte bright blue 371 Lid - Rated R (blue half)
Crease - MAC Jeanius l/e Motorhead (also patted over bottom lid liner), Inglot 378 (glittery brown) and AMC 65 (glittery black)
To blend - Inglot matte white 373 and skintone 352.
Liner: Illamasqua Precision ink in Abyss, Kryolan cream liner in Aqua blue (waterline), UD 24/7 liner in Binge (bottom lid).
Mascara: Boujois Volumizer in black
Brows: Free gift matte brown eyeshadow from Clinique (I find this or the browns from the Paraguaya Sleek palette to be pretty good matches for me).
Foundation: Clinique Almost make-up in 01 Fair and their translucent powder.
Blush: MAC l/e Venomous Villains Bite of an Apple (cheek) and Darkly my Dear (under cheek/bit of a contour).

Today I also visited the post office to collect my latest Nars blush - Oasis (bought with another Diet Coke £5 code). It is almost exactly the same colour as Darkly my Dear except it has gold glitter/shimmer. I think it's super pretty from swatching it...no matter what Bobbi Brown says, I don't think glitter or shimmery blushes really show that much, and I think it makes my face look dewy and fresh... so nerr!!

I've nearly run out of my Clinique tinted moisturizer and I was considering getting a Stila one from a brandalley sale but then I changed my mind (even though a fiver is very cheap) because I'm thinking of getting the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Since it's so expensive, I'm scared I'll be disappointed. I've also considered a Vichy one, but there are no testers for their line in my local Boots and I want a good colour match.

Anyone have a recommendation for me? I like light-medium coverage and an SPF.

Two neutral with a 'Pop' eyes (haha, Popeyes!)

Products:
Base: UDPP and NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk on tearduct, UD 24/7 liner in Asphyxia (bottom lid).
Shadows: Inglot neutral colours (glittery white DS 496, 352 matte skintone to blend, two glittery browns in DS 465/378), Sugarpill Magentric (inner lower lid) and Inglot Raspberry red (AMC 74, outer lower lid.)
Liner: Illamasqua precision ink in Abyss
Mascara: Rimmel Lash Accelerator in Black (like this so far, although the formula is wetter than I've become accustomed to!)
Blush: MAC Posey cremeblend blush with NARS Oasis blush on top for longevity (everytime I apply this product I think not of the band but of the Amanda Palmer song of the same name...)

Today I started some first aid training at work. Because it was none uniform day, I decided to match my eyes to my silly shirt.

Products: same as above except on lower lid I used UD 24/7 liner in Electric with Sugarpill Afterparty (inner) and Inglot 371 (matte bright blue, outer) and Kryolan cream liner in Aqua blue on the waterline. Blush this time was MAC Bite of an Apple.

I've been enjoying this style of make-up because most of it stays the same, I can just change up the 'pop' to suit my mood. Simple but still fun!

A couple of EOTD's and schtuff (Very belated St. Patrick's day?)

I have gotten around to trying out lots of the products I bought in London (above is Radium with Revlon Star on the tips) and I still love them, oh yes. I'm slightly annoyed that I bought another matte yellow (how many matte yellows could I need? Well, now I have two...The Inglot one has very fine glitter and is ever so slightly lighter than Sugarpill's Buttercupcake, but it still irks me). Another problem is, one of the Inglot colours is pretty much a dupe for Urban Decay's Creep. I love Creep, so it's not such a bad thing, only I wish I could've had the matte black like I had wanted. Or chosen a completely new colour I don't have at all like this dark green with gold glitter that I am remembering ever so fondly in hindsight.

I tried three looks with my Inglot shadows since Friday, and I'm going to pop some pictures of them below. Two are looks I wore to work yesterday and today, I'm trying to be more adventurous with work make-up as today I wore the above mentioned yellow. I also used my Illamasqua cream blusher in Rude - the first look has a light dusting of MAC's Bite of an Apple blush and the bottom has a light dusting of MAC's Mighty Aphrodite blush.

The final (mega-super-late St. Paddy's day?!) look I tried tonight - on one eye only. For my own amusement. I couldn't resist trying out one of the Inglot matte gel liners and it was A-MAZING. Dare I say it, even better than the blue Kryolan Creme liner I love so much. You see, I put some onto the back of my hand to adjust the product on the brush and by the time I'd finished my eyes it had dried. It dried! Rock solid waterproof! It was a bugger to remove from my waterline, but the colour is astounding. And it's very creamy; it doesn't tug or blob or smudge. I cannot wait to try these out as bases.

This green eye used my new Inglot colour 384 (bright grass green) over UDPP, with a little Kryolan aquacolor in black blended as a base for the crease and Sugarpill Midori pressed shadow over the top to make a deep dark green. (Sorry about the yellow colouring in the final three pics, I had no natural light source because I did this at night - I still need to track down some natural light effect bulbs - *makes mental note*)...
Thanks for looking, I plan to blog about my Illamasqua Adventure on Wednesday (my next day off).

Bare with!

Experiments with Darling, Tipsy. Absinthe and Midori

Products used: UDPP, Kryolan gel liner - Aqua blue (under eyeshadow), NYX Jumbo pencil - Milk (inner corner), Fyrinnae Winter again, Sugarpill e/s Darling and Midori, Mac e/s - Newly Minted, Sleek Acid Palette - khaki green (to help fading out towards brow), Kryolan aquacolor interferenz Green (under lower lashes).

Products used: UDPP, Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, NYX Jumbo pencil - Milk, Fyrinnae Banana Mochi, Sugarpill e/s in Buttercupcake, Sugarpill Chromalusts in Absinthe and Tipsy, Illamasqua e/s in Sadist (to darken outer V), Bodyshop green liquid liner (over Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss).

Today I tried out Boujois Volumizer 2 step Mascara. I bought it months ago on offer and I really like it. It was quite tricky to work with but I thought the results were worth the trouble. Now I just need a better eyelash curler (sigh).
