Neutral shimmer eye FOTD

This look was based on a comment from the lovely Vintage Makeup, as a few posts back I had accidently repeated a look and she suggested a shimmery neutral eye. I hadn't tried this kind of make-up since going blue, and therefore I did on Monday.
I thought the result was super flattering and (for me) really different so here it is.

Products
Eye base - UDPP in Eden, Pixie Epoxy (lid) and NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk (tearduct and browbone).
Eyeshadows - Virgin (tearduct and browbone), Naked (crease), Buck (crease) and Creep (outer v) from the Urban Decay Naked palette. Fyrinnae's Dinosaur Plushie on the lid (the most amazing multi-glittery silvery-taupe).
Eyeliner/Mascara/Lashes/Brows -  Boujois Clubbing liner intense in Black, Rimmel Lash Accelerator (one coat on top lashes only), Mister Mascara black lashes (the longer set of the two), Gosh brow powder (darkest of the three).
Foundation/Powder/Blush - MAC face primer (not sure which one, it's a mini sample I got months ago and am using up so I can try my No7 one), Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturizer in Porcelain, Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer in light (under eyes, around nose and chin), Clinique loose translucent powder, MAC l/e Wonder Woman blush in Amazon Princess.
Lips - MAC lipliner in Cherry and lipstick in Russian Red. (I added a little lip balm on top as I had very cracked lips that day and it was not working for me matte!)

P.S Anyone who hasn't seen, you still have a week to enter my first ever giveaway so go right ahead,

Zazu inspired EOTD + a Color Club holo NOTD

This Zazu from the Lion King inspired eye just happened to go well with my planned outfit (red cardi + yellow belt + blue highwaist skinny jeans). So here it is...

Products
Eyebase - UDPP and NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk.
Eyeshadows - Bamboo (skintone) and Summer Breeze (matte light blue) from Sleek Mediteranean palette, NARS Rated R duo (periwinkle blue half), Inglot Yellow 474 (with glitter) and Orange AMC 51.
Eyeliner - Boujois clubbing liner intense (black, top lid), Inglot AMC gel liner in 84 (yellow, on waterline and flicked out to the side).
Mascara - Rimmel Lash Accelerator in Black (now this has dried out a little bit I really love it!)
Face - Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturizer in Porcelain, Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer in Light (I finally bought this and it seems as good as they say it is - decided on Light because Fair looked more cool toned, and the peachyness of this one seems to help blank out my dark circles, but I might end up buying Fair for the winter). I set my face (not my under eyes) with my usual Clinique translucent powder.
Blush - I used Posie tint under my powder (you guessed it, I got this free with Glamour magazine and it stained the back of my hand for two days!) with a little MAC Wonder Woman l/e blush in Amazon Princess to help it last (which apparently was un-needed!)

My younger brother just finished his Art Foundation at Uni and is going to take an Illustration degree next year. I wore this to his final show... with matching shoes!  (I got these Miss L Fire shoes months ago in a sale on Amazon and only just got around to wearing them. They make me happy). We had Pizza Hut after, it was awesome (free salad was a genius idea they just had).

Is it mad that I have my eye on yet more shoes from the Office sale?

P.S My mani this weekend has been Color Club Worth the Risque, which is very holo under flurescent lights and quite holo in the sun. In these pictures, it's in the evening sun. It only chipped after four days wear, and I was at a till with lots of small change counting to do for two of those days. I'm pretty happy with this one. One coat of Essie Fill the Gap and two coats of the colour with a coat of Essie Good to Go on top.

Mushu inspired EOTD

Red and gold go together really well, like on a bejeweled crown, a ruby ring... or an animated dragon from a Disney cartoon. I like Mushu (from Mulan), and this look is inspired by him. I might even start a series of Disney sidekick character eye-looks (e.g Lumiere, Zazu, Gus or Flit - just off the top of my head). That sounds like fun, right?

Products
Base: Urban Decay Primer Potion (original, I am yet to crack open Eden), UD 24/7 liner in Baked (under gold to help it stick).
Eyeshadows: Sugarpill Goldilux, Love+, Flamepoint (to blend down red onto lid) and Dollipop (to blend out red to brow) and a touch of Inglot AMC 74 (Raspberry) to darken the crease slightly and matte 352 (skintone) to blend right up to brow.
Eyeliner: Boujois Clubbing Liner Intense in Black.
Mascara: Boujois Volumizer (step 2 then step 1 to comb it through, yeah I like it backwards best...)
Brows: Clinique free-gift greyish brown eyeshadow.
Foundation: Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in Porcelain.
Blush: MAC cream blush in Posey.
Powder: A mix of Clinique translucent to set oily areas (like my nose, forehead, chin) and Guerlain pressed meteorites powder in Mythic Parfait on less oily areas (for a little glow).
Lips: Just some strawberry balm.

Tipsy EOTD

My pictures never seem to do Tipsy Chromalust from Sugarpill any justice. In the mirror I see a rich shimmering warm grass green with green glittery sparkley goodness. On photos it seems to come out a minty bright green (this was probably enhanced by the mint green base I used... oops). I had tried to do a cool cut crease inspired by a recent tutorial by Dusty on youtube but it just wasn't working (for the record I was trying it with Sugarpill Poison Plum as the outer/crease colour and chromalust in Darling used wet on the lid. The colours were great but my skills were not).
I moved on and did this instead. When in doubt, I go with green... everytime. This is very similar to about six of my other posts so I'm clearly a creature of habit.

Products -
Base: UDPP and Illamasqua cream pigment in Bedaub (mint green).
Eyeshadows: Fyrinnae Jade Ghost (tearduct), Sugarpill chromalust in Tipsy (lid) and pressed shadow in Midori (crease), Inglot AMC 65 (glittery black, crease), matte 384 (bright green, above crease) and matte 352 (skintone, to blend up to brow).
Liner: Boujois clubbing liner intense in Black and Inglot AMC gel liner in yellow (number 84, on waterline).
Mascara: Rimmel lash accelerator in Black.
Brows: MAC Stud brow pencil to fill in tails, Clinique matte brown eyeshadow (from a free gift) to fill in front, blend and set pencil.
Face: Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturiser in Porcelain, set with Clinique translucent powder. Sleek contour in Light, NARS powder highlight in Albatross.

Deep-blue EOTD

I love blue eyeshadow. When I look in the mirror with any blue eyeshadow on, I can see all the orange tones of my brown eyes. I also feel like it makes my skin look paler (which is how I like it). I had wanted to use the blue half of Rated R as an all over lid colour, and this was what came out today.

I just this morning (still in my pyjamas, much to the amusement of the postie) got the three sets of Real Techniques brushes by Samantha Chapman (aka half of Pixiwoo). I therefore decided I would use only these new brushes to test them out. Fun! I ended up using 2/3 of them, which is a bit mad. And now I need to wash them (boo!) I like them so far, they are certainly worth the money. One thing i've noticed whilst using the brushes in the way they are labeled is that the angled brow brush has softer, bendier bristles than the others, and is a bit thick for my liking.
I will probably use this 1. when my Illamasqua brow brush is dirty or 2. for lower lid/waterline liner.

Products:
Base: UDPP, Nyx jumbo eyeshadow pencils in Cottage Cheese (inner corner) and Pacific (lid)
Eyeshadows:
Inner corner - Inglot shimmer white DS 496, white with blue glitter AMC shine 28 and matte bright blue 371 Lid - Rated R (blue half)
Crease - MAC Jeanius l/e Motorhead (also patted over bottom lid liner), Inglot 378 (glittery brown) and AMC 65 (glittery black)
To blend - Inglot matte white 373 and skintone 352.
Liner: Illamasqua Precision ink in Abyss, Kryolan cream liner in Aqua blue (waterline), UD 24/7 liner in Binge (bottom lid).
Mascara: Boujois Volumizer in black
Brows: Free gift matte brown eyeshadow from Clinique (I find this or the browns from the Paraguaya Sleek palette to be pretty good matches for me).
Foundation: Clinique Almost make-up in 01 Fair and their translucent powder.
Blush: MAC l/e Venomous Villains Bite of an Apple (cheek) and Darkly my Dear (under cheek/bit of a contour).

Today I also visited the post office to collect my latest Nars blush - Oasis (bought with another Diet Coke £5 code). It is almost exactly the same colour as Darkly my Dear except it has gold glitter/shimmer. I think it's super pretty from swatching it...no matter what Bobbi Brown says, I don't think glitter or shimmery blushes really show that much, and I think it makes my face look dewy and fresh... so nerr!!

I've nearly run out of my Clinique tinted moisturizer and I was considering getting a Stila one from a brandalley sale but then I changed my mind (even though a fiver is very cheap) because I'm thinking of getting the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Since it's so expensive, I'm scared I'll be disappointed. I've also considered a Vichy one, but there are no testers for their line in my local Boots and I want a good colour match.

Anyone have a recommendation for me? I like light-medium coverage and an SPF.

I voted wearing this EOTD... ha!

I wanted to try out the NARS Rated R eyeshadow duo, having waited three days since it arrived to even swatch it! Let me say this about that, it is a beautiful duo and would've been worth the full price. Having got £5 off just makes it even more spectacular! The blue is such a unique shade (somehow more periwinkle than my favourites Sugarpill Royal Sugar and Illamasqua Sadist.) I only used a touch of it on the bottom lash-line, but the blue is definately unique. The green not so much, it's got a similar sheen to Sugarpill Absinthe and is a similar colour to my Inglot chartreuse and a Fyrinnae colour I can't recall the name of right now. It applies beautifully, and I am very pleased.

Products:
Base: Urban Decay primer potion and NYX jumbo pencil in Milk
Eyeshadows: Nars Rated R duo, Sleek Acid palette (bright yellow, bright green and khaki green), Sleek Paraguaya palette (skintone to blend and two browns for my eyebrows).
Eyeliner: Illamasqua Precision ink in Abyss and UD 24/7 liner in Perversion (to tightline, set with matte black from Sleek Acid palette).
Mascara: Boujois Volumizer (the neverending mascara...)
Face: Clinique Almost Make-up in 01 Fair and MAC Posey cremeblend blush. Set with Clinique translucent powder.
Lips: Clinique Chubby Stick in Chunky Cherry.

When I got home later I tried out my lovely new Sleek true colour lipstick in Mystic. This is amazingly pigmented and opaque (without any liner) and SO much cheaper than MAC, which I suppose aren't so expensive, only I don't wear lipstick often so to me £13.50-odd seems a bit steep!
And yes, as the title suggests, I wore this (minus the lipstick) to vote in the local elections and on the referendum. I win at life.

MakeupbyRisa inspired EOTD

I went through some of youtube Guru Risa's tutorials last night. She no longer makes videos because she is not paid for her time as some gurus are. In my opinion she should've been, I love her! Today I have attempted a Risa-inspired look. It's not as dramatic as her work (she usually uses false eyelashes and is a professional, afterall), I still liked how this turned out.

Base: UDPP, NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk, Illamasqua cream pigment in Bedaub (mint green), UD 24/7 liners in Asphyxia and Electric.
Eyeshadows: Inglot shimmery white (inner corner), matte skintone/white (for blending edges) matte lilac (crease) and matte grass green (lower lid), UD Shattered (on lid, from Ammo palette) Sugarpill Afterparty (crease) and Absinthe (inner corner of lower lid), MAC Dame's Desire (fading out crease, from Dame Edna Royal Tour trio).
Eyeliner: Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss and Kryolan cream liner in Aqua blue (waterline).
Mascara: MAC l/e WW opulash in Army of Amazons (lower lashes) and Boujois Volumizer in black (upper lashes).
Foundation: Clinique Almost Make-up in shade 01 (Fair) mixed with Illamasqua Rich Liquid foundation in 140. Set with Clinique translucent powder.
Blush: MAC l/e WW blusher in Amazon Princess.
Brows: MAC brow pencil in Stud set with matte brown from a free, gift-with-purchase Clinique palette.

ps. Sorry my photos are uncropped today, couldn't figure out how to do that on this laptop, as the computer I usually use has packed in. Tut. Hope it sorts itself out, or is sorted out, soon!

Pretty-standard work EOTD

I called this pretty-standard because I thought it was a pretty look, but it's simple and very neutral. It features NO mad colours, infact it's brown. Elizabeth Arden hated brown. I like it!

I used UDPP, 24/7 liners in Bourbon (under eyeshadow) and Whiskey (waterline). UD Naked palette colours in Hustle (lid) and Smog (crease). I blended it all with a matte skin tone from Inglot, and didn't have an inner corner highlight. Eyebrows were filled with MAC Stud eyebrow pencil and I used MAC Posey cream blusher, blended on using my new flat-top synthetic brush from the E.L.F. studio range and set it with a little MAC l/e Wonder Woman Mighty Aphrodite blush. Mascara was Revlon Grow Luscious in Brown.

I used Clinique Chubby Stick in Chunky Cherry on my lips all day and I love it! It's just enough colour for me, and doesn't have the aftertaste I so loathed with my Eyeko Fat balms!
